We’re big on pre-project planning, and provide our clients with a full service experience. You’ll always receive complete drawings, specs and a detailed schedule before we start anything. Our systems are there to put you at ease, with an online project portal that allows you to view every aspect of your renovation project in real time, from anywhere.

We know how important it is to set examples. Every member of our team takes responsibility for their own actions and encourages their teammates to be the best they can be. We carry this thought through to our sustainability action plan, encouraging other builders to re-visit their impact on the local environment we all share.

Our Story

BuilderWorks’ story starts with our first little company called ‘MicroWORKS’. A ‘small project’ contractor serving our clients and friends on the North Shore via little renos and home repairs. Our goal was to create a local North Shore based company and build our reputation through fairness, honesty and punctuality. As we grew, we now offer major renovation and building services, while still maintaining our small project offering to serve our clients as thoroughly as possible.

We’re a small team, leveraging our knowledge of the home improvement industry and unique skillsets to offer you a renovation experience that is unparalleled on the North Shore.

Blake Voyer, RSE

Owner, CEO

Blake is the founder and CEO of BuilderWorks. In charge of the day-to-day sales and project management aspects of the company, Blake is your first point of contact with your renovation process. Building and renovating on the North Shore since 2006, Blake started out working on his father’s job sites to gain experience for a career in design. He fell in love with the building right away and hasn’t left the job site since. 

A red seal journeyman carpenter, Blake’s mission is to always provide exceptional service, no matter the size and scope of a project. Although his company has now grown from its initial small operation, his dedication to craftsmanship and customer care are still the driving forces of BuilderWorks today.

Brian Bland

Supervisor, Finishing Carpenter

Brian is a long-standing professional in the home improvement and building space. His 13+ years of experience renovating high-end homes place him in an excellent position to supervise projects with hands-on knowledge and experience. From whole home renovation projects to fine carpentry installations, Brian carries a wealth of knowledge of the remodelling industry with him wherever he goes.  Brian’s fastidious nature and calm demeanour make him an excellent supervisor that sub-trades, team members and clients rely on and trust.

Brian is an avid woodworker both on and off-site. When not renovating homes, Brian is typically found hiking in the North Shore mountains, working on a new project in his woodshop or playing music (he’s an avid guitarist too!)
